Explosion of Colors
What a year for my art this has been! I am truly grateful!
I just got asked to be part of another showing at Gallery Direct. Jessica has been most supporting to me as an artist and continues to host the most real, beautiful and gracious shows. She is truly a people person and understands the artists way! Bravo Jessica!
I started a painting last month and have just finished it last week. I am so in love with it. A landscape but definitely different than the past ones. I usual go from side to side ( horizontally) this one brings the eye up and down. I had a real time with this painting! It was like wrestling with my inner critic as I deviated toward the explosion of these colors and perspective. My hand wanted to this, my inside logical mind was like, "wait, this is different than normal! " And that place my friends, is a place you don't want to stay at or you will never grow as an artist. The work you are "known' for , oh my, what will happen to that work? I believe it will always be a part of you and that you are building your 'collections' of style as you allow yourself to walk / paint right through that Doubting Thomas!
On that note, I am grateful for my break through the last two months. I will carry on with painting and some new techniques with acrylic I have been practicing. I am grateful for some time this month to paint. I am grateful for this website and blog I am able to have and write about my passion, the painting process and creating from your soul!
