Its that time of year where many of us are running around doing extra things like shopping, cooking and decorating of the holidays.

All that really adds up to many longer days and maybe even many longer hours at work to pay for the presents under the tree.

Yesterday  was one of those days for me. I whipped up a group of us and off to Christkindmarkt , Bethlehem Pa we went.

This popular  German Christmas market is well known around the country, in fact its on the top 10 lists of must go to for Christmas shopping and some "me" shopping too! 

This Christkindmarkt supports Art Quest ,  a non profit organization providing access to art, culture and educational programs to the Lehigh Valley community. This organization is responsible for events in the area all year round. Over 50% of the Musik Fest and other Performing  and Visual art entertainment free to those millions who visit this area a year.

Along with this awesome area is what started all this The SANDS casino. This casino has revitalized the Lehigh Valley area and have future plans to build out the whole Steel Stacks that use to be one of the largest Steel Factories in the country. The Hotel there houses 200 or so rooms. Its not to big and I can see this plan in my mind, as they built out they will need more hotel room space. Plenty of parking in this area and  it will be interesting watching this Steel Stack Area grow into a thriving area for Lehigh Valley. As I drove into i was struck by the contrast of the Old Steel Stack factories, alehouses and offices just standing there not touched in so many years, against   the bright lights of the casino, Art Quest stages and many shopping Outlets connected to the Hotel and other Restaurants that have been developed. Cool place.

I am so happy I almost done my Christmas shopping, leaving a lion and friend left to get that something special for, hmm maybe I'll go back to Bethlehem , do the rest of my shopping and see all the pretty lights.
