Painting taking a new direction

The last 2 months I have been meditating for an hour every morning. My painting has taken a different direction. Totally away from what I usually paint . The techniques and two different mediums I am falling deeply in love with. The first fork in the road was buying my 1st encaustic kit, paints and encaustic boards. Well that was like watching velvety paints blending into each other and not knowing what the iron would do when blending those colors. The blow torch ( kitchen hand dessert torch) was the last ahh ha moment ! I fell in love with the melting of different colored wax melting into each other creating a molten look to the paintings . The second medium is an acrylic pour as they call it. The color mixes are endless and is my number one thing I love about this technique. Along with the mixing of colors is the way it spreads on the canvas and how it changes before you torch and after it dries. Love this way of painting , very organic . Figuring out all the mixing ratios and possibilities is your learning curb along with all the other additives you can add. There a quite a few of them . All I can say is you have to try each one and see what combo you like. The process is the journey to a new way of expressing my love for color. ~ Keep Piantimg and trying new things ~
