Day 69 of Stay Home Orders

Ah, can that be right almost 10 weeks of no work, restuarants, malls, beaches and travel? Did I for get anything or anywhere?
I thought 2 weeks was impossibly long at first! You now, how they said two weeks and we would "flatten the curve"?! I feel it was their way of getting us "use" to the idea ,inside our homes and they KNEW it would be longer. UGGGGGGGG.... I don't know about you but if the told me in the beginning of this that it would be months I would have thrown a shit storm fit and fought it as best I could. Who knows, I may have been arrested over it! I may have gone to te white house to protest it. Even through the knowledge that the virus is no joke on its track of intensity.
So, i have done quite a bit for business and still on it a bit everyday. The amount of time I spend on the phone has gone up 75%!
Those meetings and appointments now take the form of zoom, face time, online selling and phone calls.
On the creative front I have had some good days. Mostly I had to focus and carve out the time to paint, write and mostly, weed, mulch ,dig , separate plants to be given to my sister for her new home's gardens and create the window boxes I love so much. Being out in nature is one of the things that have helped with the anger, sadness and helped pass the time.
Birds have shown up a lot in my paintings, along with some landscapes and my abstract paintings. Yesterday I started a Robin, Connecticuts stare bird! Who knew?!
When I watch the birds in nature I marvel at their daily routines. We all have routine even if its not the same exact thing we do everyday , it sort of is. We get up , get food and drink, set up our day of to do lists and our nightly rituals of settling in, finding games, books and movies to watch along with the cocktails that have become the only "going"out thing that I use to do before this covid nightmare.
I know we have all been affected by this, some of us hugely by losing people we love, jobs, money, travel, get togethers and our normal days of living. Gone are all that I have tried not to take for granted like family and friends gatherings , working at what I love to do best, making people feel and look their best. I have slowed down a lot and to be honest, that was hard to do and look at in the beginning.
Why were we flying around on auto fast and auto pilot? Why was all of it so important? To hear my sister Maria say the other day that she's learned to relax and wonder why we thought we had to do so much after work and on our days off , for what? Why are those things so urgent to us? Could we live without them? This time points out we could live without most of it.
Yet there are days when all that they are reporting is in conflict with each other and I want to scream from the top of my lungs and say ENOUGH! It's hard for me to forgive and forget all that has happened. It is time to carry on. My practice now is just that, forgive and time to get back to the routine that will be for a long time different then we ever dreamed . Let us be smart and safe in the way we go about our days.
It's time for me to go create and let the flow happen as hours go buy and you forget self and express from within. That's what I am longing for, how about you?
Be well My Family, Friends and Humanity. Happy Memorial Day!
